Karate Tournament
Tournaments are a great way to get some practical training out of all that you've learned. You can use all that you've learned and compare it against other students.
I recently participated in my first karate tournament on November 16th, 2024. I was part of the karate club at our school going to represent our uechi-ryu style. I participated in kata and kumite.

We had introductions from all of the sensei's across the different dojos. We also were lead through a large group warmup before transitioning to do kata.

Almost every student did two rounds of kata. There were five judges appointed at each angle to give their fair opinion on who they thought did better. The first round was one student at a time, and the second was two students at once.

People did multiple rounds of kumite, or sparring. It was fun to see how other styles fought, as they have more of a focus on kumite then our school's dojo.
This was a very fun experience. I got to meet students from multiple different colleges to compare our different systems. I learned a lot just from only a few hours of a practice tournament.
